Street art: Paste-up at Megalo

imageHave you seen this guy? I’m not sure if he’s a commissioned work or just some great thing an artist did for us while we were sleeping. I see him everyday when I go past on the bus coming home from work and I like the idea that he’s standing guard and watching over us.

He’s in an unassuming place at the back of the Megalo Print Studio + Gallery which makes me think he might be legit. It’s a classic building with a lot of white walls, kind of begging for embellishment. He’s beautifully rendered and perfectly scaled to fit, a toy soldier made life-size.

If you’re heading to the Kingston Foreshore, keep an eye out for him, because he’s keeping an eye out for you.
