Maybe I have a lot of introvert friends advocating the cause, but the number of instructional articles and diagrams on facebook educating the world on how to respectfully interact with introverts seems to have grown exponentially in the last year or so. Lesson #5 – Stretch

jack russell terrier and foam roller I did a 14 kilometer run this morning. This isn’t far for some, but it’s definitely at the upper end of my range. After I finished I was so excited about getting to breakfast, I forgot to do my stretches. Stupid mistake (although breakfast was great). Having sat still for the rest of the day next to my little dog (him sleeping, me being equally inactive) with my legs slowly stiffening, I’ve been reminded about the importance of stretching.

Lesson #4 – Go hard or go home

Let sleeping dogs lie

My dog sleeps an average of 20 hours a day. He’s not particularly old, or unhealthy. In fact he’s built like a little athlete and the vet once told me he has the heartbeat of a German Shepherd. I am constantly in awe of his ability and determination to sleep through constant patting, poking and prodding (by me) and loud movies and music (granted he does usually disappear upstairs whenever I play the piano).
